I Against I

Crazy Week

This week has been crazy and surreal. It feels like I’m living in a telly series or something.

Friday 19th March: Teacher called me at my internship and told me a classmate had committed suicide the other day. The classmate had the oddest name ever but was a really sweet boy. The kind that’ll never stab you in the back. Honestly in hindsight,  I saw it coming. There was a test the previous Monday and another teacher told him that he had grounds to refuse giving it to him because he hadn’t shown up for any of his classes - making me realize that the kid had indeed skipped a lot of classes this period. Still, it came as a shock at the time.

Monday 22th March: Most schools in the city where I study were closed for the day because of a threat posted on our favourite monitored forum, 4chan.The poster threatened he’d take a gun with him to school, kill his Dutch teacher and take as many students with him as possible. Tough luck that my schoolgroup had agreed to come together to discuss our course of action after the classmate died.(he was in our projectgroup for the last year). Couldn’t get out of it even tough I knew the threat was empty.

Friday 26th March (today): School closed. Bomb threat. I was at my internship but the building is located in the cluster of companies behind the school so I walk through the school car park on my way to the train station. Read about it on the web. When I walked pass it, it was still not cleared and had to take a detour, police was everywhere.

Crazy shit man.

You are resting now, my friend.
